Svalbard is a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. The main islands are Spitsbergen, Nordaustlandet, Edgeøya, Barentsøya and multitude of small islands. The expedition will take place up North from Longyearbyen and you will be head back to the town. The crew will follow the same pattern when you will travel South of the island.

Day 1: Late afternoon embarkation from Longyearbyen
People will embark on a late afternoon from Longyearbyen for the expedition. It is a small coal-mining town on Spitsbergen Island. The polar bear can occasionally be seen around the area. 

Day 2-7: Explore Spitsbergen
The expedition will give you the opportunity to visit as many locations as possible and spotting rare polar species. You will get on board a zodiac and set foot in the land to explore historical sites and experience the tundra. Patience and persistence will be your ally if you wish to see the polar bear and rare Arctic fox. You could also spot the majestic Svalbard reindeer or the Arctic tern. 
On the island, the tundra shows its beauty and you can see Svalbard poppy growing and blooming. It is the symbolic flower of Svalbard. This travel will also bring you to see colonies of bird that can be only seen in specific sites. Be on the lookout!


Day 8: Departure day
The voyage will end at the Longyearbyen airport where transfers will be available for passengers with flights scheduled.

With a maximum of 134 passengers, the G Expedition provides an intimate, small-ship cruising experience with a focus on exploration. The ship was completely refurbished in 2009 and has been converted into a perfect polar explorer with an ice-strengthened hull,  stabilisers , large observation decks and a fleet of zodiacs ready to get you onto the ice. It also features a heated mudroom which ensures extra comfort when preparing for your excursions.
