Join a 12-day, once-in-a-lifetime adventure with Polar Quest through the magnificent wilderness of Svalbard. In the heart of the summer months, the midnight sun reigns supreme and the purple alpine plants decorate the Arctic tundra. With less ice cover comes more opportunities to explore the seldom-visited eastern parts of the Spitsbergen archipelago. Whales are more frequently seen in the waters this time of year and more and more snow-free areas become accessible for longer walks. Enjoy ten nights on board MS Quest, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy all the nature experiences Svalbard has to offer.
On this special voyage, you will be accompanied by award-winning polar photographer & cameraman, Doug Allan, who is a special lecturer on this voyage. Doug is one of the world’s best-known and respected cameramen, whose love affair with ice has lasted over forty years. He spent four winters as a research diver, scientist, base commander, and photographer for the British Antarctic Survey, and over his career has filmed for series such as Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Frozen Planet, Ocean Giants, and Operation Iceberg. With more than 65 film projects on his CV, including 20 expeditions to Svalbard, Doug Allan’s expertise in filming the polar regions and other extreme environments is legendary.
