The Ocean Adventurer has been a very popular Antarctic exploration ship for many years and is perfectly designed for exploring the region. Carrying just 128 passengers ensures there is a high focus on exploration, and the ship boasts an expert team of expedition staff alongside a varied programme of landings, a fleet of zodiacs and a series of lectures.
On selected cruises you can enjoy kayaking amongst the ice floes or spending a night camping on the ice itself, using high-quality REI camping equipment (both activities have an additional charge).
The newly refurbished main lounge acts as the central hub; during the day, briefings are held to plan out the expedition ahead and in the evening, the adjoining bar serves a range of beverages. The window-lined restaurant offers fine dining in the evenings and a more casual menu for breakfast and lunch.
All cabins onboard enjoy stylish furnishings, exterior views and brand new en-suite facilities.
Polar Specialist Ben Rowley says; "Ocean Adventurer is a great choice for people seeking a more simple ship. I really love its outer decks – near the bow, there’s a great raised viewing deck and at the stern is a large deck with two hot tubs. Talking from experience, these are amazing after the polar plunge!".
