The National Geographic Endurance is the first polar ship built in Lindblad’s 50-year history, named in honour of legendary explorer Ernest Shackleton and his famous Transantarctic Expedition. Designed specifically for exploring the coldest corners of the planet, this ship opens the door to places few people have ever seen.
Built to the highest ice class (PC5 Category A) and fully stabilised, the Endurance can safely navigate through thick sea ice, letting you reach some of the most remote parts of the Arctic and Antarctica. One of the ship’s most eye-catching features is its unique X-Bow® design. This special shape helps the ship move more smoothly through the water, even in rough conditions, giving you a quieter and more comfortable ride.
Even though she’s built for adventure, the Endurance is also designed with comfort in mind. She carries just 138 guests, creating a relaxed and personal atmosphere. All 69 cabins have ocean views, so you won’t miss a thing. Whether you’re travelling solo or with someone else, you can choose from standard and solo cabins, or spacious suites with private balconies. Each room comes with a full bathroom, a sofa, and modern extras like USB ports and a tablet for exploring more about your journey.
There’s plenty to enjoy onboard, too. Relax in the hot tubs, unwind in the sauna, or join a stretch in the glass-walled yoga studio. Learn more about the places you’re visiting at the Science Hub, lecture room, or photo studio, with expert talks led by the ship’s naturalists, scientists, and National Geographic photographers.
From Zodiac landings and kayaking to spotting whales, penguins, or even polar bears, every day brings a new adventure. With the Endurance, you’ll explore the polar world in a way that’s both exciting and deeply rewarding.
