Day 1: Embark in Reykjavik, Iceland
Days 2 - 7: Exploring Southern Greenland
Day 8: Disembark in Narsarsuaq & fly to Reykjavik, Iceland
Day 9: Depart Reykjavik
Your Arctic expedition begins in Reykjavik, Iceland. Meet Quark representatives at the airport and board a private charter flight to Narsarsuaq, Greenland, where you'll embark your ship. A scenic village deep in the Tunulliarfik Fjord, Narsarsuaq is the gateway to South Greenland, surrounded by several Norse sites and hiking trails.
Nicknamed "Arctic Patagonia", South Greenland is a region as rich in spectacular scenery as it is in history. Everywhere you look rewards you with vistas of icy blue waters set against a breathtaking backdrop of dramatic fjords, winding coastline, crystal-clear waterfalls, and lush, verdant valleys. Boasting the greatest variety of landscapes in the country, coupled with the most serene, sheltered waterways surrounded by soaring, snow-capped mountains, Greenland's southern tip is an adventure seeker's paradise.
Throughout the journey, you'll head out in small groups with similar interests, multiple times a day, to some of the most remote, isolated areas of South Greenland.
Before you depart on your charter flight back to Reykjavik in the early evening, spend the day visiting sites around Narsarsuaq. You may visit the villages of Igaliku, where you can wander the ruins of the Gardar Cathedral, the largest church in Greenland in the Middle Ages. Upon arrival back to Reykjavik's international airport, you will be transferred to a hotel nearby in Keflavik.
Today, you can make your way home at your leisure or spend time exploring this vibrant capital city.
Ultramarine is a purpose-built ship carefully designed to optimise your polar expedition experience so that you can discover some of the most mesmerising places on Earth and immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring landscapes of the polar regions. Equipped with two helicopters, she also brings you access to new places accessible only by air, pushing the opportunities for polar exploration even further and bringing you more options for adventure than ever before.
