An 8-day itinerary to one of the most fascinating places on Earth. You will fly over the Drake Passage to King George Island, in the South Shetland Islands, where you will embark the ship. You will navigate through icy fjords dotted with icebergs drifting along the coast and see formidable wildlife from penguins to seals and whales.
You will arrive in Punta Arenas, in early in the afternoon and be welcomed by the Expedition staff. The transfer will be provided to your hotel, the staff will provide a briefing with information about the voyage and guidelines for Antarctic travellers. You will then gather for a welcome dinner and enjoy a menu inspired by the region.
You will embark the aeroplane for a two-hour flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island, situated in the South Shetland Islands. Once outside the plane, the purity of the air in Antarctica will fill your lungs. Admire the scenic views of snow-capped mountains surrounding the area. Chile’s Frei Station and Russia’s Bellingshausen station can also be explored before boarding a Zodiac to embark your expedition vessel.
As you navigate along the coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, the ever-changing scenery will reveal spectacular icebergs and pristine wildlife from sea birds, penguins, seals and even whales rising from sea level. You will Zodiac cruise daily and appreciate spectacular views as you navigate an area filled with icebergs and glaciers. On the ship, the staff offers lectures and engaging program of presentations. You will share these moments with your fellow travellers and appreciate time in the lounge.
Each voyage in Antarctica is unique. Based on the weather and ice conditions, the Expedition team will make sure you explore places that offer the best encounter with wildlife and discover Antarctica’s natural beauty from its infinite snow-covered landscapes and mountain ranges to pack of ice splitting from the shores. You will visit many places like Paulet Island, Hope Bay, Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Paradise Bay, Deception Island and the Lemaire Channel.
The ship will return to King George Island, you will enjoy the pristine region of Antarctica one last time before heading back to Punta Arenas via aeroplane. After disembarking, you will be transferred to the hotel of your choice and stay overnight. You can use this time to explore the Chilean city at your own pace.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
