This 19-day expedition cruise package includes flights from the UK and takes in the sights of the Antarctic Peninsula and the Falkland Islands. You will arrive in Buenos Aires the night before the cruise where you can explore this fascinating cosmopolitan city before staying overnight in your included pre-cruise hotel. You will then fly South to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world and board your expedition ship the MS Midnatsol and sail across the Drake Passage. As you approach the Antarctic convergence you will begin to witness the incredible spectacle of Antarctica's wildlife.

On arriving in Antarctica you will enjoy excursions out into the Antarctic continent exploring on foot and by Zodiac boat. Having close encounters with penguins and keeping an eye out for whales petrels and albatrosses. 

The endless white horizon's of Antarctica will invigorate your senses. Subject to the weather conditions you will land on the frozen continent, cruise between giant icebergs and spot whales and from the deck! Among the locations, you may get to visit on the itinerary are Half Moon Island, Cuverville Island and Neko Harbour. After four days of exploring, you will wave finally leave the frozen continents as you set sail for the Falkland Islands. Where you will experience a slice of Britain in the South Atlantic: red buses, phone boxes, pubs, it's a home from home and the locals will be sure to make you feel welcome. The Island is home to more penguins than people and the pristine wilderness is an amazing chance to relax in stunning nature. The islands have a rich history and were an important stopping off point for ships sailing around Cape Horn. There are a number of optional excursions available that will let you get the most out of your time here including history tours, bird watching tours, nature walks and even a scenic plane tour where you can discover the Falklands by air in a classic island-hopping aircraft. You will then embark the ship for a final time as you sail North to Montevideo, Uruguay’s stunning capital.

13th March 2020: Depart UK

Today you will depart the UK on an overnight flight to Buenos Aires

14th March 2020: Buenos Aires

You will arrive in the morning and have some time to explore the city in the afternoon. Known as the ‘Paris of South America’ Buenos Aires has an air of cool, sophistication with stunning architecture and a vibrant way of life. Either enjoy a tour or explore the capital of tango by yourself.

15th March 2020: Buenos Aires /Ushuaia

You will fly early in the morning to Ushuaia, the Southernmost city in the world and board the MS Mindnatsol. The journey begins with a welcome dinner and you will say goodbye to South America. Antarctica awaits!

16th - 17th March 2020: Drake Passage

You will spend the next couple of days crossing the Drake Passage. As you cross the Drake there will ample opportunity to keep an eye out for the incredible life of the Southern Ocean including Albatross and Whales. The expedition team will provide lectures and films about the frozen continent, it's wildlife and history and brief you on the landing protocols in Antarctica.

18th - 22nd March 2020: Antarctica

You will spend day 10 at sea as the ship sails for the Falkland Islands, the expedition team will continue their programme of lecturers telling you everything you need to know about the history, great explorers, marine biology, wildlife, oceanography and the impact of climate change.

24rd - 26th March 2020: Falkland Islands

In the Falkland Islands, you will experience a slice of Britain in the South Atlantic. Red buses, phone boxes, pubs, it's a home from home and the locals will be sure to make you feel welcome. The Island is home to more penguins than people and the pristine wilderness is an amazing chance to relax in stunning nature. 27th - 29th March 2020: At sea

Your final days at sea are full of activity. As you reminisce with your fellow travel companions about the wonder that you have seen. There will be a last few talks and chances to enjoy the onboard activities.

30th March 2020: Montevideo

You will arrive in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. After a final breakfast on-board the ship you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.

31st March 2020: Arrive UK

This morning you will arrive home in the UK
