When Do You Want To Go?
An 11-day itinerary to discover the most remote place on Earth - Antarctica. You will be crossing the iconic Drake Passage before entering the Antarctic Peninsula. You will be one of the few to explore its beautiful scenery and remarkable wildlife from elegant albatrosses to minke whales and adorable penguins waddling on the shores.
You will arrive in the busy port of Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. Ushuaia is the gateway to the Great White Continent, and the region also thrives with sites that deserve to be explored like the Tierra del Fuego National Park. You will embark the ship between 4 to 5 pm and depart for the adventure of your life at 6 pm!
The ship will navigate across the iconic Drake Passage. This will be the time for lectures and a chance to prepare for your time in Antarctica. The Expedition team will present the IAATO rules of conduct to make sure everyone knows what to expect during landings and Zodiac cruises. You will learn more about the pristine region and be able to join naturalist-guides on the upper deck and see birdlife such as albatrosses and Cape petrels flying over the ship.

Depending on weather and ice conditions, the Captain and his team will decide which places to visit. You will be landing in mesmerising sites and go on cruises in a Zodiac to discover the incredible ice-covered landscapes of the peninsula and its remarkable wildlife. Penguins, humpback whales, seals and giant petrels are spotted in the area as well as many marine species like elephant seals, fur seals, Antarctic minke whales, and orca.
As this is Ponant you will be sailing in the wake of famous francophone explorers like Jean-Baptiste Charcot, Adrien de Gerlache as well as the more familiar names like Sir Ernest Shackleton and.
The ship will sail back through the Drake Passage where the cold currents meet warmer waters, hence the diverse marine fauna. This will also be your last chance to observe the incredible wildlife of the Southern Ocean!
