Days 1 & 2: UK – Buenos Aires
You will fly from the UK overnight to Buenos Aires. Regional airports will be available on request. You will then be transferred to the hotel and stay overnight. Enjoy the experience in the cosmopolitan capital of Argentina and take advantage of this short time to get a glimpse of the Argentinian culture.
Day 3: Buenos Aires – Ushuaia
The next day, you will fly to Ushuaia. Known as the southernmost city in the world, it is also the getaway to Antarctica. You will embark the Scenic Eclipse and be greeted by the expedition team. Get into your suite and familiarize yourself with the luxurious facilities of the ship. After settling, you will join a welcome cocktail reception and toast to the beginning of the voyage, the captain will introduce you to the crew before setting sail through the Beagle Channel and leave the majestic scenery of Tierra del Fuego province.
Days 4 & 5: At Sea
As you will be spending a couple of days at sea, you should explore the ship and take advantage of the many facilities it provides and expand your knowledge with an entertaining presentation by the Expedition team in the theatre. Alternatively, you will be delighted to explore the ship’s dining options from the “Elements”, the main restaurant featuring Italian cuisine or the “Lumière”, contemporary French fine dining and Champagne bar.
Days 6 - 11: Antarctic Peninsula
As you approach the Antarctic Peninsula, the region will reveal its formidable scenery, the first sightings of icebergs and snow-capped mountains will be breath-taking. There are simply not enough words to describe what you will see in the Great White Continent.
Due to weather and ice conditions, the Expedition team will design your voyage accordingly, their countless journey to Antarctica and expertise are the reasons your expedition promises to be unforgettable! You will participate in daily excursions on a Zodiac and land in mesmerising sites of the Antarctic Peninsula, you will observe rookeries of penguins and other wildlife like humpback whales or seals lying on icescapes. The Captain and the Expedition team will navigate through the iconic Lemaire Channel where you will see steep cliffs. You will cruise towards a working scientific base. Visit the station and discuss with scientists about the harsh conditions and how it is to live in Antarctica. From late February to March, you could have the opportunity to cross the Antarctic Circle.
Days 12 & 13: At Sea
You will head back north and leave behind you this pristine region. This time is a great opportunity to share with other travellers your experience and memories. Go on the deck and appreciate for one last time the marine and bird life.
Day 14: Ushuaia – Buenos Aires
You will disembark after breakfast and say farewell to the crew and travellers. You will fly to Buenos Aires for your overnight stay.
Days 15 & 16: Buenos Aires – UK
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for an overnight flight back to the UK.
