The 50 Years of Victory (50 Let Pobedy) is a Russian Arktika class icebreaker. The ship was completed in 2007 and is one of the largest, newest and most powerful nuclear icebreakers in the world. It is one of the few ships that can take passengers to the North Pole. Equipped with two nuclear reactors that produce nearly 75,000 horse power, this powerful ship can pass through multi-year ice up to 3 meters thick. This is a unique polar expedition ship, capable of going where others cannot.
The 50 years of victory was built to clear the path for scientific and cargo ships as they make their way through the pack ice and frigid waters of the Arctic Ocean and North West Passage. The ice-breaker is the only one to offer voyages for adventurous souls to the Geographic North Pole.
