When Do You Want To Go?
The Antarctic Circle marks the northernmost point from which it is possible to see the midnight sun. Few polar visitors make it this far into the Antarctic proper, so you will be one of a lucky few to enjoy a celebratory glass of bubbly as you cross 66°33 South. Each ship has its own unique way of celebrating the crossing, so this is something you might want to bear in mind when choosing the right cruise for you.
Due to the vast amounts of ice, it’s only possible to make the journey this far south later in the season, when you will be able to enjoy the long polar days interspersed with only a few short hours of night. The activities on offer include cruising in Zodiacs and enjoying the sight of vast icebergs, landing on isolated beaches, standing in awe of calving glaciers and watching for whales, penguins and other Antarctic wildlife.
